Tonight my daughter was crowned Higley High School Homecoming Queen! We are so very proud of her. We have continually pushed her to strive for being more than just a high school student. She's a dancer and she attended Metro Arts, but we transferred her second semester last year. She hated the change and -- like most of her friends at school -- hated Higley. Higley has had some real problems -- including theft, unorganized teachers, etc. -- which had both my wife and daughter fighting for her to go back to Metro. But I stuck to my guns and my daughter made Student Council and is now the reigning Homecoming Queen. Tonight (along with getting her into A.P. classes) has totally validated my fight.
